Public Health Dentistry

To Improve Oral health of populations through the education of dental public health specialists (To educate populations through public awarencess, dental program and community services / projects and provide accessible quality dental care)
Department Profile:
The department of preventive & Community Dentistry trains undergraduate and graduate student in public health dentistry to work within interdisciplinary teams to conduct investigations on the risk factors for oral disease their relation to systemic disease, and on the use of oral epidemiological methods to study health outcome of dental services and oral health policy.
Facilities Available:

• The department is equipped with a well stocked library a seminar room,a waiting area, sterilization area and separate rooms for HOD, Staff & Post Graduates.
• It also renders comprehensive oral care to the needy with an elaborate referral system for more specialized care.
• A total of 25 fully equipped dental units are used by the department to provide dental treatment.
• A fully equipped air-conditioned dental van to render comprehensive oral care during camps.
• Contemporary equipment & clinical materials for use by the graduate and post graduate students as well as the faculty effective and efficient management of oral dental problems.
• Also have audio visual equipment to educate and motivate populations Eg: CCTV.LCD Projector, OHP, Slide projector.
